Queer Psychedelic Society Manifesto
We are living in a time of overlapping grief and resistance: a US-backed genocide of the Palestinian people, ecological and human rights devastation in Congo, attacks on trans rights across the U.S., and the ongoing negative results of fascist, authoritarian leadership. For queer and trans folks—especially those that are BI&POC and disabled—healing is not a luxury. It’s survival. It’s strategy.

Queer Psychedelic Society is building the kind of world we want to live in; where healing is mutual, spaces are safe and sober, and no one has to explain their existence. We're not waiting for institutions to save us. We’re doing it ourselves as a grassroots organization through peer support, community education, and psychedelic integration that honors our truths. And we believe our people—our artists, our elders, our facilitators—deserve to be paid for the medicine they carry.

This isn’t just about mental health. It’s about queer liberation and building systems that hold us when the rest of the world won’t.

Queer Psychedelic Society remains committed to providing low to no cost spaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ folks from all backgrounds to gather in celebration of joy, remembrance, resilience, and evolution - all while honoring our most authentic expressions of self. Queerness is not an aesthetic or brand - it is an embodied rejection of societal norms in service to collective change, an internally felt liminality, and a reclamation of the vast spectrum of gender identities and sexual orientations that were once valid and revered in many ancient (and modern) cultures.

Our 5-year Goals
Weekly Psychedelic Integration Circles
Our goal is to provide weekly virtual queer-centered integration circles, for continuity of care and to provide better real-time support. Waiting a month to be held and witnessed in your integration journey is not always helpful, as some emergent insights or needs should be held in a more timely manner. This requires funding to ensure our facilitators are nourished and can keep up with the many demands of life.
Queer-Centered Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Education
Many of the existing psychedelic education and general guidance is written from a heteronormative lens - using binary phrases like "feminine/masculine energy," ignoring trans and queer identities, or leaving out relationship structures such as polyamory. We are committed to creating queer and trans inclusive psychedelic education to assist in guiding our communities towards the safest practices in the psychedelic world - from vetting your facilitator/retreat provider, to understanding the importance of intention setting and the "why" of preparation practices.
Fully Sponsored Integration Retreats and Healing Access
While many are focused on booking their medicine retreats, Integration retreats are a medicine-free alternative that will provide queer and trans bodies time to rest, connect, create, and reclaim joy in nature. While so much emphasis in the broader psychedelic world is placed on packing multiple medicines into one weekend, QPS has a goal of creating 4-7 day, fully sponsored integration retreats to give space for the ability to embody integration practices that are often discussed, but not always felt in the body. As well, QTBIPOC are frequently unable to access higher cost psychedelic healing modalities, yet are a population who can benefit most from this modality. We seek to use funds to assist QTBIPOC community members to access options like Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, or legal psilocybin retreats through queer-centered providers like Kiyumi.
